CATEGORY

All things being equal, which would you prefer–a mystery? Or a love story?

I like a heart-tugging, down to earth romance like Tommie Lyn's On Berryhill Road.

CATEGORY

Of the books you own, what’s the biggest category/genre?
Is this also the category that you actually read the most?

I'm a YA fanatic for sure!

E-VOLUTION

E-readers like the Kindle and iPad are sweeping the nation … do you have one? Do you like it? Do you find it changes your reading/buying habits? If you don’t have one, do you plan to?

I've been hearing good buzz on the Nook Color and that it is going to be equal in price to the Kindle Fire at $199 and through the Android system you would be able to read e-books on it in both Kindle and Nook formats.

HARDER

All other thing being equal, would you rather read a book that’s hard/challenging/rewarding or light/enjoyable/easy?

Light all the way! Give me a book like The Pioneer Woman - Black Heels to Tractor Wheels - A Love Story by Ree Drummond that combines a touch of real life with a helping of romance, and I'm a happy camper.

HARD

What’s the hardest/most challenging book you’ve ever read? Was it worth the effort? Did you read it by choice or was it an assignment/obligation?

To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf - I was supposed to read this for a college lit course but the professor ran out of time before we could get to it. I tried reading it over the summer on my own, but could not get into it at all. It is by far the hardest book I ever tried to read. I stopped after the first 10 pages.

VACATION

I’m on vacation this week. I didn’t go anywhere exciting or exotic, I’m just not at work. Spending time puttering around the house, playing with the dog and … oh yeah. Reading. A lot.

Do your reading habits change when you’re on vacation? Do you read more? Do you indulge in lighter, fluffier books than you usually read? Do you save up special books so you’ll be able to spend real vacation time with them? Or do you just read the same old stuff, vacation or not?

A Nicholas Sparks novel is like the Calgon of reading. He takes me away....with a romantic story, sentimental writing, lots of food scenes and of course (for the most part) a happy ending. Light reading at its fluffiest.

SEQUEL

If you could get a sequel for any book, what would it be?

Mockingjay (Hunger Games Series #3) by Suzanne Collins because I'd like to see how Katniss and Peeta were able to pull their lives back together.
